Over the past several years, ADC Austin has been building Workforce Training Systems to support homeland security efforts from the Office of Domestic Preparedness. Current clients include: NERRTC (National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center) at Texas A&M, NCBRT (National Center for Biomedical Research & Training) at LSU, CTOS (Counter Terrorism Operations Support) at UNLV, and Agro Terrorism Training at UC Davis.
ADC Austin specializes in building Training Management Systems with state of the art imaging integration.
The ADC Austin Training Management System provides a Microsoft SQL Server System with the following functionality:
- Track and Manage Courses, Classes and Facilities
- Maintain Instructor Schedules and Select Instructors by Qualifications
- Scan in Registration Forms, extract the form with OCR (optical character recognition), allow user validation for key fields and automatically load the database upon completion
- Scan in Evaluation Forms, extract the form with OCR (optical character recognition), match to an existing Registration Form, allow user validation for key fields and automatically load the database upon completion
- Email a PDF Registration Form for early registration, allow user validation for key fields and automatically load the database upon completion
- Scan and Search documents associated with a Course, Class or Student
- Produce reports showing comments and recommendations from Class Evaluation Forms
- Produce Class Roster and Security Clearance Documents for each class
- Produce ODP mandated data interfaces
- Detailed delivery data in XML format
- Monthly data extract
- Web-Based Reporting and Inquiry including:
- Deliveries and Participants
- Total Deliveries
- Total Participants
- Participant Enrollments
- Congressional Reports
- Student and Student Hours
- Evaluation & Assessment
- Course Objectives
- Course Assessment
- US Jurisdictions
- US Jurisdictions
- US Map of Jurisdictions
- US Congressional Districts Map
- Deliveries and Participants
Typical Customization Tasks Include:
- Configure New Courses – Setup for Entry, Modify Forms for Scanning
- Reface existing database for the new client
- Analyze and Modify if needed - the existing Registration Form and Feedback format (letter/duplex) for the courses.
- Analyze and Modify if needed - a set of Registration and Feedback forms for the local courses to be sent out to the student via email. The PDF form will be sent electronically back to the client and automatically imported into the database utilizing the same validation rules as the scanning process.
- Reface the Web-Based Reports for the new client
- Train client staff for two week
The Training Management System will run in a networked environment requiring the following hardware/software:
- Microsoft SQL Server for the underlying database
- IIS for AT-STAT web-based reporting and inquiry
- Ascent Capture Release 7.0 for scanning in registration and evaluation documents
- Kofax Xtrada for image correction
- Microsoft Access interface with the SQL Server database
- Robust PC for Scanning with a 2 GHz processor, 1 gig of memory, and 40 gig of disk space
- Fujitsu fi-4120 duplex scanner
- US Post Office Zip Code Lookup
- Imaging Toolkit for viewing hand-written comments
The typical timeframe for turn-key implementation, customization and training is a two – three months.
